The Book of the Dead

Hare 2

Wenet

This morning’s question after I saw the cat and the rabbit.  The cat goddess of ancient Egypt was Bast.  The hare was a companion of Eostre.  Who was the Egyptian bunny goddess?  Or does Egypt not have rabbits?

About johnsmithiiimxiii

John Smith, IIMXIII is the avatar of an award winning poet, artist, etc. who still lives in the Palouse country of the Pacific NW. He has not received much notice with his prose . . . but as his avatar, I hope that he keeps plugging along.

Hi Yassy! Good question. I think the Sphinx is a monster, a chimera. Maybe that is why he is called The Father of Terror in Arabic. There is even a theory that the Pharaoh Khafra had the monument changed to a loin with his face from one of Anubis. Most Egyptologists don’t like that one I hear. Hope everything is going your way!
