The Secret Crusade

Truth is complicated; when King Richard sent his herald to Peshawar to arrange a ping-pong game the Grand Old Party helped set the capitalists of Asia free range, at least the really nasty ones, the truth got complicated. Everybody has an ecological niche. And the party continued under the Great Actor cutting the bonds of all the crime families held in check by a revolution’s tyranny. The law changed; Jerusalem was given back to the heathens to lend money in.  It will be up to history to ask if Jesus was happy about it. Who in the media will get the first interview in Heaven? On which channel will it be aired first?

Beanie Baby Rescue

Facebook, or is it Meta, is evil. Most tools can be, but the Marketplace will hopefully keep me going long enough that my granddaughter will have a good shot at survival. Paypal might help as well if those people who collect cough up money to save those Beanie Babies.

The use of priority mailboxes from the United States Postal Service and large delivery fees to cover the cost of getting the plushy animals to their new homes safely without causing Ben Franklin to spin in his grave will help too.

I really have to look up to see if Ben has a grave and where it is. I should make the pilgrimage.

The Dog Days

Osiris is well up in the Eastern sky with his hound in tow.  It is not the Dog Days in these longitudes and on this side of the world. A wind break and a fire would be welcome.  I wonder why it is easier to pick out Rigel and Betelgeuse in the sky at night these days than it is to pick out Elm St. or Maple?  Perhaps it is that they get sleepy and drop their leaves.  Maybe it has to do with shadows.  Yes, a fire would be welcome.

Arcturus is the jewel that the plowman wears in the Western sky.  It is easy to find if you know about the sleepy bear and where he is tied to the post.  I suppose that is true only in the Northern lands.  The South must be getting on to summer.

Osiris slain and risen.  Osiris slain and risen.

I suppose that changes beyond the reach of the solar wind.

Myths

“What myth am I living?”

U.N.C.L.E.

This is what you use when you are fighting THRUSH.

Armament

This is what you strap on when you are out riding the range.

You do not carry this when you mosey into town.

Children vs. Collectors

The first thing my granddaughter does when I give her one of my mother’s hard collected batch of Beanie Babies is demand that the heart shaped ear tag covered in a hard plastic shell be cut off.  In the next couple of months, I will notice that the butt tag is gone as well.  She is setting them free range.

I have no real toys left from my childhood.  I played with them to death.  I have collected things in pursuit of something along the way.  I have collections.

Wolves By the Water

The software and hardware of my system may not be as compatible as they once were, but with a bit of latitude and longitude i.e., a bit of space and perseverance the picture can still take shape.

The House Advantage

I am not, nor have I ever been, a member of the Communist Party.  But I remember in the early seventies when a Revolutionary Communist Party manifesto came around.  It was back in the days when Angela Davies still ran for president.  The coupon read “The whole system is rotten, and I refuse to participate.”  You were supposed to fill it out and mail it in and they would do something appropriate with it on mass.  I can’t remember if I sent it in, but at that point in time it seemed to be a true statement.  I really haven’t seen much in the last forty years to change my opinion about that statement.  I still keep voting and hoping, yet it doesn’t seem to fix things and there are more and more of us.  The mismanagement seems to be constant.

The Creative Process

The creative process can be exhilarating, but it can be painful.
